Dell Latitude E5530 Factory Restore

Another computer question from a third party website where I earn supplemental income answering computer and technology related questions. This one deals with factory restoring a Dell computer with Microsoft Windows operating system installed. The question is quoted verbatim below.

Hi, I have a Dell Latitude E5530. I want to sell it so want to remove any possible way it links to me. How do I factory reset it or what do you recommend I do.

This individual was using a Dell Latitude E5530 with Microsoft Windows 10 operating system installed. You can wipe all your data and reinstall Windows 10 with “Reset this PC”. You can perform a “Reset this PC”.

You will have two options. One will allow you to keep all your personal data, but your applications will get removed. The second option will remove all your personal data and applications.

Follow these instructions below, if you want to perform a “Reset this PC”. Left click the Microsoft Windows 10 start menu button. Click on the “Settings” gear icon.

Then choose “Update & Security”. Now choose “Recovery” then select “Reset this PC”. Click on “Get Started” and then choose an option.

Also, you can type in reset this PC into a cortana search box. The cortana search icon is a round circle or globe icon usually in the lower left corner, near the Microsoft Windows 10 start menu button. Reset this PC will remove all personal data, applications, and settings.

The same version of Microsoft Windows 10 operating system you had when you purchased your computer will then reinstall. Also, only applications that were installed in Microsoft Windows 10 will become reinstalled. This is a relatively quick and easy way to wipe everything from your computer.

If you want to start over with Microsoft Windows 10, sell your computer, or give it away, then this allows you to wipe your computer and reinstall Microsoft Windows 10 with essentially one command.

00:10

alright stream health healthy

00:19

a stash at ronconi de enoch appears calm

00:24

with your video party boy as yes our own

00:28

so another video for you today let me

00:31

cut to the chase but let me check

00:35

something really quick video for you

00:40

alright I have a Dell Latitude e55 30 I

00:47

want to sell it so I want to sell it so

00:53

I want to remove any positive hold on a

00:57

second I mean I have a new set up here

01:00

so I have to all right I have a Dell

01:04

Latitude e55 30 I want to sell it so

01:08

want to remove any possible way it links

01:15

to me all right whatever

01:17

how do I factory set it or what you

01:19

recommend I do so with Micro crap

01:22

microchip Micro slop wind blows 10

01:24

operating system there's a future called

01:27

reset this PC and that's basically the

01:30

answer so this is a factory reset this

01:32

isn't a proverbial bull factory reset

01:34

video where you have to jack around

01:36

hitting the I don't know Dells

01:38

are different you know the zero key the

01:41

f8 the special menu the f12 at boot now

01:45

this is if the laptop has window

01:49

Microsoft Windows 10 and it most likely

01:51

does because this is a newer laptop and

01:53

all you do is perform a reset this PC so

01:56

I will go ahead that's the answer that's

01:58

the short answer

01:59

you can leave now if I already have now

02:03

let me give you the instructions on how

02:04

to perform a reset this PC

02:09

now there's two options with a reset

02:14

this PC it has to have Windows 10

02:17

already installed you have to be able to

02:18

log into it and access the desktop the

02:24

so be aware when you perform these tasks

02:28

with you know micro crap microchip

02:30

Microsoft Windows operating system so

02:32

you have two choices one is going to

02:35

wipe everything and then that is the

02:38

answer to this question you're going to

02:39

perform a reset this PC you're gonna use

02:42

the option that wipes everything all of

02:44

your personal data so back it up if you

02:46

need to and also your programs get

02:48

removed and then it's gonna reinstall

02:50

windows 10 I think it reset this PC I

02:54

think it resets it back to when it was

02:59

originally installed but don't quote me

03:02

on that because because of the updates

03:04

they have major updates every six months

03:06

so don't quote me on that but it removes

03:09

everything remembers all the programs it

03:11

removes all your personal data it

03:13

removes everything that's traceable

03:16

trackable logs blah blah blah it just

03:19

reinstalled Windows 10 back I think to

03:21

the the last time it was it was

03:24

installed or when it was installed

03:36

so in order to perform a reset this PC

03:39

what you do is on Windows 10 you you can

03:44

use Cortana or you can left-click the

03:46

Windows 10 icon and then type into

03:52

Cortana

03:58

oh well here's another way to do it you

04:01

can use Cortana to search just go to the

04:02

search tool it's the it's a circle or

04:05

it's all you can change that to just

04:08

have a circle icon the icon for Cortana

04:10

search is actually just the little globe

04:13

it's just a round circle click on that

04:15

type in reset this PC it should search

04:18

and find it select it or another way you

04:21

can get to reset this PC is you would

04:24

click on the Settings gear icon then

04:27

choose update and security so you go

04:29

into update and security then choose

04:31

recovery then you're going to select

04:34

reset this PC and then you're gonna

04:37

click on get started and choose an

04:39

option I have I have better instructions

04:45

than that but in my blog post click on

04:49

the link in the description box below

04:51

they'll take you to my website a net

04:55

computer's calm I don't watch television

04:58

much but I changed motels or hotels and

05:02

I just happen to have the TV on because

05:05

of my activism and I was gonna there was

05:10

a shooting at a military base and I was

05:13

gonna cover that and oh oh wait YouTube

05:16

censored me off my activism channel

05:20

because I used to talk about subjects

05:22

like that anyways I had the TV on and

05:24

just television is so stupid the

05:27

movies are stupid

05:29

it's just anyways

05:33

I have these other instructions let me

05:36

go over I don't want to make this video

05:38

too long so that that's the answer right

05:40

there if you want to reinstall windows

05:45

10 quote-unquote factory said it's

05:48

basically it really - to me is like a

05:51

factory set it's supposed to reinstall

05:54

windows 10 back to when you first used

05:56

it you bought the brand new deli 5530

05:59

used it for a while your pornography or

06:02

ashleymadison.com or whatever the

06:03

goddamn you Americans get into well if

06:08

you want to reset let's say you want to

06:10

sell the computer or you want to give it

06:13

to a way to your daughter or your son or

06:15

I don't know whoever your wife I mean

06:18

your mistress

06:19

I mean well isn't that what you

06:21

Americans perpetrate you cheat

06:22

on each other all day the divorce rate

06:24

is way over 50%

06:25

you know anyways you just don't want any

06:29

traces that you've used the laptop so

06:32

reset this PC it's it's a different way

06:34

in my opinion well it really depends on

06:37

Dale has a pretty good you know factory

06:40

set but it doesn't always work and reset

06:44

this PC is pretty decent actually and I

06:45

usually don't get Microsoft that many

06:48

you know positive vibes I need to quit

06:52

looking at that dumb television all

06:54

right let me see how long

06:57

and look at let me look at my encoder

07:03

all right I'm at the 6 minute mark seven

07:06

minute mark that's not bad there's

07:10

another option so I this is over time I

07:13

already gave you the answer if you want

07:14

to restore it to factory you can perform

07:16

a reset this PC and IR to give you the

07:18

instructions however I will have written

07:21

instructions in text format and you

07:23

would click on the link in the

07:24

description box below that'll take you

07:27

to my blog post and it appears calm so

07:29

that you can peruse on your own accord

07:32

in the abstract instructions on how to

07:34

perform a reset this PC so it'll wipe

07:36

everything now remember what's reset

07:38

this PC you have two options so you need

07:41

whenever you around with computers

07:43

you need to become aware especially like

07:45

system restore and reset this PC you

07:48

know I'm saying I gave you the

07:50

instructions that will wipe everything

07:51

so be aware that now I will there's

07:54

another option when you go through the

07:57

reset this PC it'll ask you do you want

08:00

to wipe everything or do you want to

08:02

keep your personal data now Bo both

08:09

options removes all your programs so you

08:11

need to come or that - it's not a system

08:14

restore a system restore keeps all your

08:16

programs except for the most recent ones

08:18

except for the ones that have been

08:20

installed since you restored but it

08:23

keeps everything else program wise reset

08:26

this PC I don't know why it is it always

08:28

removes all your programs now there is

08:31

an option that it will keep your

08:33

personal data so I don't know why

08:37

Microsoft designs it that way that in my

08:39

opinion they should have a third option

08:40

where it would keep all your programs

08:44

well but what you're doing is you're

08:46

resetting the computer so I kind of

08:50

understand that it's just a way to wipe

08:52

and go back now quickly let me see I had

08:57

better instructions I have two computers

09:00

here

09:01

oh wrong computer reset this PC

09:11

this is overtime this is like bonus

09:15

ii reset this PC

09:24

yeah did I include it I should have

09:26

maybe I did not my might if I get around

09:31

to I haven't written a blog post yet I

09:32

did I did

09:34

search the keyword for this video and I

09:38

and I'm live-streaming I tried to

09:39

livestream now it saves me a lot of time

09:41

I just live streaming I don't give a

09:43

if anybody shows up actually I

09:45

don't want anybody to show up because

09:46

I'll just get distracted so I don't give

09:47

a if anybody shows up or not but

09:49

when you livestream it automatically

09:52

archives your videos it takes a while

09:54

even these shorter videos yeah YouTube's

09:56

kind of slow and I'm using MKV video

09:59

what do they call it video whatever

10:02

whatever that could be it but I don't

10:04

get warnings about anyways you don't

10:06

need to know that about that crap I

10:08

don't have the other lengthier

10:10

instructions let me let me look real

10:12

quick I thought I had the real lengthy

10:15

ones where where I described where you

10:17

have two choices

10:19

well you will have two options one will

10:22

allow you to keep all your personal data

10:23

but your applications will get removed

10:25

the section option will remove all your

10:27

personal data and applications yeah I

10:31

guess I kind of included it but

10:42

well you can also type in system reset I

10:45

think if you go to a run box in Windows

10:49

10 and type in system reset no spaces

10:53

all one word system and then the you

10:56

know system reset the two words combined

11:00

no spaces in between no nothing like

11:01

that

11:02

and I think it'll open it up also you do

11:05

know that in Windows here's a bonus tip

11:07

in wenton with Microsoft for a long time

11:10

maybe all the way back to when there's

11:14

95 or I would say at least Windows 2000

11:18

maybe I don't where if you know the

11:22

executable you can actually open a run

11:24

box and you can actually run the Act the

11:26

just type in the exact command that is

11:29

the executable you know see even

11:33

Microsoft is dumb down it's very dumbed

11:36

down well click on the gear and then

11:40

click on the gear icon and then click on

11:42

update and security well if you know the

11:45

commands and there's a certain folder

11:47

where they're all they're all at and it

11:50

just lists all of the diak dot exe all

11:52

the executables you can I think you can

11:56

even open up control panel if you know

11:58

the exact executable that could be in

12:01

case the GUI up or wind blows 10

12:04

is terrible Windows 10 is garbage

12:06

nothing's changed and up up to any

12:09

update could just take it out to the

12:11

point where oh yeah quite often your the

12:15

Windows 10 menu doesn't work or the

12:21

desktop icon icons don't work you and

12:24

then the Windows 10 doesn't you can't

12:26

open a run box you can't open the search

12:28

box you're pretty much but if you

12:31

know if but you could there's another

12:34

way to open up task manager and then you

12:37

would click in there and and then well

12:39

then type it in then that has a run box

12:42

in there and then you trust me I had to

12:45

do that once before or I had to help

12:47

somebody do it

12:49

anything else about I think that's it

12:52

man that that's one way that you can I

12:56

don't have any other detail instructions

12:59

for reset this PC

13:05

yeah

13:14

ah

13:18

interesting

13:23

all right this video is already lengthy

13:25

enough I'm getting close to 15 minute

13:28

mark now alright so that is how you can

13:31

perform a doe what is it

13:36

II what it was a Dell Latitude II 5530

13:43

factory restore it's not technically

13:46

using the Dell tool but it is a way to

13:50

factory restore it and I gave you

13:52

instructions on how to reset all the

13:58

personal data gets wiped all the

13:59

applications gets wiped in case you want

14:02

to give it to your mistress

14:04

I mean your wife and Isis of your usage

14:10

on the computer adios
