You need to fill out and submit an Adobe Acrobat software program version nine portable document format form that is only compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista operating system and you have installed Microsoft Windows seven operating system. Can you use, download, or install Microsoft Windows Vista just long enough to fill out that form without losing any of your Microsoft Windows seven files? You need to know if you can opt to use more than one operating system on the same computer or find an alternate solution?
You can try running Adobe Acrobat reader software program version nine in Microsoft Windows Vista operating system compatibility mode. You will want to right click the Adobe Acrobat reader nine desktop icon or your Microsoft Windows seven “Start” menu icon. Then select “Programs”.
Now you can choose the “Adobe Reader nine” menu item. Then select “Properties”. Now choose the compatibility mode tab.
In the compatibility mode drop down list, choose any available Microsoft Windows Vista operating system among the choices available. You can click on the “OK” button. Now you can try running Adobe Acrobat reader software program version nine.
Hopefully, it will let you enter responses into that Adobe Acrobat portable document format form now. Another option is to install the Adobe Acrobat reader 9 version software program in compatibility mode. You see the client I helped solve their problem had already installed with an Adobe Acrobat reader nine version software program.
Sometimes you may not be able to just right click a program item shortcut and choose compatibility mode. There are instances when you initially install a software program, you will need to actually install it using compatibility mode. You will want to right click the program installation executable file.
Now choose “Properties”. Then you can select the “Compatibility” tab. Now place a check in the box for “Run this program in compatibility mode for”.
You will want to choose the operating system that that software program is compatible with. You can try each operating system that is listed in the dropdown list one at a time. Each time you choose a different operating system, you will obviously go ahead and run the installation program you downloaded.
Hopefully, one of the operating systems that you choose will allow you to install and run that software program on any Microsoft Windows operating system since Microsoft Windows 2000. Earlier in this blog post I provided instructions to run a software program installed on Microsoft Windows seven operating in compatibility mode. Here are instructions for both Microsoft Windows ten and Microsoft Windows eleven operating systems.
Microsoft Windows 10 Compatibility Mode
Right click the program that you want to run in Microsoft Windows compatibility mode. Then choose “Properties”. Now you can select the “Compatibility” tab.
Place a check in the box next to “Run this program in compatibility mode for”. Choose the operating system where that computer software program is intended. You may need to choose each different operating system choice in that dropdown list until your program works correctly.
Microsoft Windows 11 Compatibility Mode
Microsoft Windows eleven has a different way to run a program in Microsoft Windows compatibility mode. Search for this program tool using Microsoft Windows eleven search tool. Type in “Run programs made for previous versions of Windows”.
Select this program tool from the search results. Now select “Next”. Then choose the program you want to run with Microsoft Windows compatibility mode.
Then you will want to choose either “Troubleshoot program” or “Try recommended settings”. Select the program you want to run in Microsoft Windows compatibility mode. Hopefully, you are now able to get your program designed for an older Microsoft Windows operating system to function on your current Microsoft Windows operating system that is installed.
Adobe Form – How to Fill in Vista Compatible Form on Windows 7 Video Transcript
0:00
Aaron with Anet Computers today this one deals
0:02
with an issue with Adobe Acrobat what
0:06
was it version nine yes I think so so
0:09
this individual
0:10
wanted to fill out an adobe portable
0:13
document format form they were using
0:17
Microsoft Windows 7 and they tried to
0:20
install I think
0:22
yes Adobe Acrobat
0:25
version 9.
0:28
of Adobe Reader
0:33
now that at that time that version was
0:35
only compatible with Microsoft Windows
0:38
Vista and so their question was can you
0:40
use download or install Microsoft
0:42
Windows Vista just long enough to fill
0:44
out that form without losing any of your
0:46
Microsoft Windows 7 file as well
0:49
that's kind of a paradox yes and no
0:52
I mean no you know you'd reinstall Vista
0:56
over Windows 7 that's not going to work
0:58
you could also
1:01
if you have a desktop computer you could
1:03
do a boot you could install Windows
1:04
Vista on one hard drive Windows 7 on the
1:07
other a different hard drive you could
1:09
also repartition your hard drive that's
1:11
way too technical I'm not going to
1:12
discuss any of that
1:14
so this individual needed to use
1:17
Microsoft excuse me Adobe Acrobat
1:21
reader version 9.
1:26
and they had installed it on Windows 7
1:28
however it did not work
1:31
so how do you fix that quagmar
1:34
you know what I'm saying
1:37
here's how you can fix that Quagmire you
1:40
can try to open up Adobe Acrobat Reader
1:46
Version 9 that was developed for
1:49
Microsoft Windows Vista
1:51
in Windows
1:53
compatibility mode now here are the
1:56
instructions they're on screen you can
1:57
pause the video you will want to right
2:00
click the Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 desktop
2:02
icon or your Microsoft Windows 7 start
2:06
menu icon then you would choose programs
2:08
now you want to choose the Adobe Reader
2:11
9 menu item
2:13
then you will select properties and then
2:17
once in properties you want to click on
2:19
the compatibility mode Tab and
2:22
compatibility mode there will be a drop
2:24
down list you can choose any available
2:26
Microsoft Windows
2:28
best operating systems what there was a
2:32
system what Vista Service Pack 2 service
2:35
pack one 32-bit 64-bit whatnot you know
2:39
what I'm saying
2:40
so what you're going to do is you're
2:42
going to choose one of them now you're
2:44
using Microsoft Windows 7. this video is
2:47
not just exclusive for Microsoft Windows
2:49
7 and or
2:51
Microsoft Windows Vista no you could try
2:54
compatibility mode has been available
2:57
since Microsoft Windows 2000. yes it has
3:01
although
3:02
it I do not believe it was that popular
3:05
back then it may have been one of those
3:08
last minute programs that they added to
3:10
a possible Windows 2000 Service Pack the
3:14
original one is 2000 may not have
3:16
included compatibility mode but by the
3:18
time Microsoft end users started using
3:21
Microsoft XP they were familiar with it
3:26
so all you do is in that drop down list
3:28
choose the version of the Microsoft
3:31
Windows operating system that that
3:33
program was designed for in this
3:36
instance Adobe Reader
3:39
Acrobat Reader Version 9 at that time
3:42
was compatible with Microsoft Windows
3:44
Vista it was not compatible what was not
3:48
written for Windows 7.
3:51
and then that's all you have to do then
3:53
you would click on OK to save your
3:54
changes then you go ahead and open up
3:58
Adobe Acrobat Reader like you normally
4:01
would and it should work hope hopefully
4:03
it will work it may or may you know
4:05
there are times it may not work
4:07
with that I've used compatibility mode
4:10
on micro crap Microsoft Wind Blows
4:13
operating systems were years and years
4:16
it does caveat amp tour it doesn't
4:18
always work but it is worth trying it
4:22
can save you a lot of time
4:24
for one thing you do not have to [ __ ]
4:27
with
4:28
you know dual booting you don't have to
4:30
[ __ ] with partitioning your file system
4:33
so you can install a second operating
4:36
system now you don't have to mess around
4:39
with any of that now here's another
4:41
additional tip
4:45
there is another way to get that program
4:49
working instead of using compatibility
4:52
mode now in this instance this end user
4:55
had our or this individual had already
4:57
installed
4:59
Adobe Acrobat Reader nine and they
5:03
assumed that it would work on Windows 7.
5:08
now they were able to then go ahead and
5:11
fill out that form after I showed them
5:14
how to you know enable compatibility
5:17
mode
5:20
yep
5:21
now sometimes
5:23
you already installed a program and
5:26
maybe you're not familiar with
5:28
compatibility mode or you are familiar
5:30
with compatibility mode it's just not
5:32
working this is the second tip the
5:35
second way is you can actually install
5:38
programs in Microsoft Windows
5:42
using compatibility mode so when you go
5:45
before you install it when you go to
5:47
install it you download the installer
5:49
whether it's in dot MSI or a DOT exe or
5:52
whatnot you know what I'm saying you
5:54
right click it I'll get to those
5:55
instructions
6:00
you're going to install it using
6:02
compatibility mode
6:04
so you want to right-click the program
6:06
installation executable whether it's a
6:09
MSI or dot exe or even I don't know
6:13
about a batch file but whatever you know
6:15
what I'm saying or just look for the
6:17
program like a lot of times with
6:19
Microsoft they're labeled
6:22
install.exe or setup.msi or you know
6:25
what I'm saying right click it then
6:27
choose properties and then you can
6:29
select the compatibility tab now you
6:32
want to place a check in the box for run
6:34
this programming compatibility mode for
6:36
then you want to click OK and then go
6:39
ahead and double click and go ahead and
6:41
run the installation
6:43
the setup or the install or whatever you
6:46
know what I'm saying and then
6:49
it it'll try to install it it what it
6:52
does is it tells Windows to install this
6:56
program using compatibility mode
7:00
another up thing you want to select is
7:02
the operating system so you want to
7:05
select the correct operating system
7:06
there's a drop down list there's a
7:08
compatibility mode drop down list so
7:11
choose one if you it when in doubt
7:14
choose one that you think
7:17
if you do not know exactly whether or
7:20
not that program was designed for like
7:22
example windows 7.
7:25
you could perform some internet searches
7:27
you may not be able to find out what you
7:29
could do is you could just use a process
7:31
of elimination it depends on how many
7:33
versions of Microsoft windows are in
7:36
that drop down list just choose one at a
7:38
time choose one try to choose one that
7:40
you think that that program is designed
7:42
for you know what I'm saying and then
7:44
click OK and then go ahead and kick off
7:46
the installation
7:48
if it doesn't work go go in that same
7:50
menu and choose the next operating
7:53
system I've had to do that before I've
7:55
had instances where I had no clue I just
7:58
figured it'd be quicker just to try each
7:59
one and I went there was maybe five
8:01
different micro
8:03
slop excuse me Microsoft operating
8:05
systems in that drop down list and
8:08
eventually one of them worked you know
8:09
what I'm saying so and then you can use
8:11
some logic
8:13
if you're using Microsoft Windows 10 for
8:15
example
8:16
and you have a a program you know the
8:21
programs are not backwards compatible if
8:24
you buy a program for Microsoft Windows
8:26
10 it was not written for Microsoft
8:30
Windows Vista you know what I'm saying
8:32
because you're not you know
8:35
it's a if it's a new software program so
8:38
just use a little bit of logic and
8:39
you'll figure it out
8:43
you cannot use a program written for
8:47
Windows Vista on Microsoft Windows 11
8:50
because get you know
8:53
the program was written for Vista it's
8:55
older it's it chances are no that's what
8:58
compatibility mode is for okay
9:03
I already went over you can try each
9:04
operating system listed
9:08
all right and then just try the
9:09
installation after each time click ok to
9:11
save the setting and after each
9:13
operating system you try you have to run
9:16
the installer again
9:18
and then hopefully eventually you'll be
9:20
able to use that program now as I
9:23
stipulated earlier actually Microsoft
9:26
compatibility mode has been around since
9:28
micro slop excuse me Microsoft Windows
9:31
2000.
9:33
now those instructions for for Windows
9:36
7. up here earlier on this blog they
9:39
were written for Windows 7. I have
9:41
instructions for Windows 10 and windows
9:43
11. and they're not that lengthy and
9:45
then this video will come to an end
9:49
did I did I forget my ad oh I did
9:53
quickly
9:54
I have partnered with a large company
9:57
that provides computer technical support
10:00
so if you ever need online computer
10:01
technical support you can ask a real
10:04
world computer technician right now and
10:08
solve your computer problem
10:11
you can browse to Anna computers.com
10:14
or at the top menu you just click on get
10:17
Tech help you type in your problem
10:21
and then you follow along and you can
10:24
actually interface with a real world
10:27
computer technician 24 hours a day seven
10:29
days a week
10:30
a week 365 days a year
10:33
over the telephone over text SMS text
10:38
and also chat online chat in real time
10:42
all right and a quick story now earlier
10:45
in this video I clowned around about you
10:48
know
10:49
dual booting
10:51
and partitioning drives so that you can
10:54
install multiple operating systems well
10:56
I'll give you two quick stories and this
11:00
is real world experience this was in the
11:02
1990s
11:04
and back then you could do a boot and
11:07
back then I could afford multiple hard
11:09
drives so I had this brilliant idea that
11:12
well you know what I'm using Windows
11:14
operating system and I like Linux and I
11:16
want to test Linux I'll just boot Linux
11:19
on one hard drive and boot Windows on a
11:22
different separate physical hard drive
11:23
well within about six I would I wouldn't
11:25
I don't even think it was a year it was
11:27
around six months
11:29
and one of the operating systems quit
11:32
booting and
11:35
I couldn't repair it and so I had to
11:37
reinstall the operating system now I did
11:40
have access to the data you know what I
11:42
mean and I recovered my data
11:45
but that's not the point the point is is
11:48
that sometimes instead of [ __ ] around
11:50
thinking that well I'll just do a boot
11:52
or I'll just re-partition the file
11:56
system and I will install Windows Vista
11:58
alongside Windows 7 caveat mtor I know
12:02
for a fact that Linux can [ __ ] up a
12:05
Microsoft Windows
12:07
boot partition I know for a fact oh my
12:12
dog I'm glad I'm not religious I mean oh
12:15
my oh my God or oh my dog how dare I
12:18
criticized Linux
12:20
and so I learned real quick
12:23
that computers are not perfect
12:25
and you know if you you know if you
12:28
think that dual booting even on separate
12:30
physical hard drives is a hundred
12:33
percent foolproof wrong
12:37
well long story short is that I almost
12:42
never even waste time trying to do a put
12:44
I don't even mess around with a
12:48
partition on one physical hard drive and
12:51
then resize it and now now nope I don't
12:55
even go down that road anymore although
12:57
recently I will say that I had what
13:00
Windows Vista still believe it or not
13:03
and I had Linux and I think and then I
13:06
had a third hard drive and it all worked
13:09
just fine but you have to be you have to
13:12
know what you're doing and Linux can
13:13
screw up Windows partitions it you know
13:18
that that's a lengthy that deals with
13:20
grub and I'm not going to digress into
13:21
that but I'm just just wanted to
13:24
give you some anecdotal evidence now I
13:27
kind of prefer the kiss the keep it
13:31
simple stupid no no I'm not calling you
13:33
stupid I'm just saying when in doubt
13:36
just you might want to just keep things
13:37
simple that's where compatibility mode
13:40
comes into play okay now I digress back
13:43
to the remainder of this video quickly
13:45
Microsoft Windows 10 compatibility mode
13:47
you can pause the video here are the the
13:49
instructions to enable Windows 10
13:51
compatibility mode you right-click the
13:53
program that you want to run and
13:55
compatibility mode then you're going to
13:57
choose properties then you're going to
13:59
select the compatibility tab then you
14:01
want to place a check near in the box
14:04
next to run this program in
14:06
compatibility mode then like prior you
14:10
choose the operating system
14:14
that that computer program was intended
14:16
for if you know it if you don't you can
14:18
guess or you can just go through the
14:20
entire list click ok then
14:23
run the program now that is if the
14:26
program was already installed you know
14:28
what I'm saying
14:33
now Windows 10 when Windows 11 has a
14:36
compatibility mode troubleshooter you
14:38
right click the program and then you
14:41
should see it
14:42
it has a troubleshooter now here are the
14:45
instructions for a Windows 11
14:46
compatibility mode they are actually
14:48
different I don't know why I don't know
14:50
why the [ __ ] Microsoft
14:53
they I don't know if they intentionally
14:55
[ __ ] with people
14:57
but they're always changing instructions
14:59
when to me it makes no logical sense
15:01
Windows 10 compatibility did you notice
15:04
that Windows 10 and Windows 7
15:06
instructions were basically almost
15:08
identical
15:09
yeah that's because it worked and people
15:12
become accustomed to it oh well we're
15:14
gonna work you know in Microsoft lied
15:16
they said that they would never create
15:17
another version of Windows and Windows
15:19
10 was the last version no that's a lie
15:22
because they came out with Windows 11
15:24
and now they changed the the
15:27
[Music]
15:29
steps that you take to and it's not
15:31
anyways I digress back
15:33
Microsoft Windows 11 is different the
15:36
instructions are different for
15:37
compatibility mode what you'll want to
15:39
do is you'll want to use Cortana which
15:41
is the Search tool in Windows 11 and
15:44
search for the program that you want to
15:45
run in compatibility mode
15:48
oh my bad
15:50
no what you do is you type in run
15:52
programs made for previous versions of
15:55
windows
15:56
oh okay now this this is that's right
15:59
I'm these instructions are how to
16:02
install a program
16:04
all right so type in run programs made
16:07
for previous versions of Windows you're
16:09
going to select that tool from the
16:10
search results then you click next then
16:13
choose the program that you want to run
16:15
Microsoft Windows 11 with compatibility
16:17
mode
16:18
then you can either choose troubleshoot
16:21
program or try recommended settings
16:27
and then select the program that you
16:30
want to run in Microsoft Windows
16:32
compatibility mode
16:35
then click OK and then try to run that
16:39
program another way is then try to
16:42
install the program now when I try to
16:45
find instructions on how to install
16:48
I really didn't find that for Windows
16:51
10. so you might want to use the ones
16:53
for Windows 7. what you do is you right
16:57
click the installer whether it is
17:00
install.bat or
17:02
install.exe or setup.msi right click it
17:06
Go choose properties go to the
17:10
compatibility Tab and look for an option
17:13
that is what look for the run this
17:17
program in compatibility mode what it
17:20
does is it tells the installation it
17:22
tells Microsoft tells the installation
17:24
program okay install this program and
17:28
run it in compatibility mode and then
17:29
you're gonna have to choose which
17:31
operating system that that program was
17:34
either written for designed for
17:35
compatible for blah blah blah blah so
17:38
those are the instructions and when in
17:41
doubt I would say on Windows 10 and 11
17:43
you can try the troubleshooter they I
17:47
don't think Windows 2000 XP Vista had
17:51
that troubleshooter you know what I'm
17:53
saying
17:55
oh
17:57
another quagmar assault
18:00
another I.T disaster I mean another
18:04
Microsoft disaster I mean no in this
18:06
instance it's not necessarily a
18:08
Microsoft disaster they actually
18:10
actually developed a tool I I just have
18:13
problems when they change you know
18:16
steps because they have a new operating
18:20
system when the the two previous
18:22
offerings or two of the previous
18:24
operating systems as they're back
18:25
basically the exact same steps and then
18:28
they change it and then people are like
18:30
where's the competitor Bill oh my God my
18:33
boss my boss wants a report and I I
18:36
can't and I just installed the program
18:38
and it doesn't work oh my where's
18:40
comparable oh my God I can't pay for my
18:43
rent oh my God my wife's gonna divorce
18:45
me okay that's enough adios
