Another information technology tutorial, so to speak for you. Odysee.com also known as LBRY announced livestreaming capabilities for all users last month. However, it is not as easy as just clicking on a "Live Now" button.
You must stake at a minumum 50 LBC credits to your Odysee channel. You browse to your channel after logging into your Odysee account. Then you will want to click on the "Support" button towards the top. You have to enter in at least total 50 credits.
Click on the "Boost This Content" button. It took about 2 minutes for the boost to go from pending to showing the date and time that it was completed. I had to refresh the page in order for the "Go Live" option to appear.
Then you will want to click on the "Upload" icon. Choose "Go Live". The go live option was viewable after the boost completed.
Your followers or even strangers for that matter can click on "Support" and boost your content. However, you need at least 50 total credits staked, in order to live stream. For now when you click on "Go Live" there are instructions that you will want to follow in order to live stream successfully.
You will have to provide livestream details. Also, you will have to wait for confirmation. This process is the same as if you are uploading a pre-recorded video.
You will be charged a transaction fee. This confirmation took around 15 minutes to complete. Once you receive confirmation, you will see a livestreaming entry under your $live page by clicking on the "Go Live" option via the upload button.
Now you can finally livestream. You only have to stake at a minimum 50 credits to your channel one time. However, if you erase and abandon this stake, you will not be able to livestream if you do not have at least 50 total credits staked.
You will receive a server uniform resource locator and streaming key once your livestream is approved and confirmed. You may not want to give out your streaming key as anyone could possibly stream to Odysee.com. Also, you will need to enter in the uniform resource locator and streaming key into your encoder.
For example OBS studio has an area in the "Settings" that you can create a custom streaming profile where you enter in the streaming uniform resource locator and streaming key. In OBS Studio under "Controls" click on "Settings".
Then click on "Output". You want "Output Mode" set to "Advanced". Also, make sure to click on the "Streaming" tab.
You will want to set the "bitrate" to 1000-2500 kilo bits per second. "Keyframes" should be set to 1. "Profile" should be configured to "High".
You will want to set "Tune" to zerolatency". Click on "Apply" or "Ok". Now go back into "Settings" and choose "Stream". Click the drop down arrow menu next to "Service".
Choose "Custom". OBS Studio at the time of this blog post creation does not yet have a profile for Odysee livestreaming. This could change in the future releases of OBS Studio.
In "Server" you will want to enter in the streaming uniform resource locator given to you when your livestream request was approved and confirmed. For example:

Now you will want to enter in your livestreaming key exactly as given to you. You can copy and paste if possible. For example

I just typed in a completely made up key with random letters and numbers. Your key will most likely be much longer and include symbols as well as numbers and letters. Click "Apply" or "OK".
You are ready to broadcast your big mouth to the Odysee world now. Click on "Start Streaming" under "Controls" in OBS studio. You should be livestreaming now.
If you start dropping packets, you can lower your bitrate until you no longer see red and dropped packet warnings. You want to see a green indicator and zero dropped packets preferably. Your livestream will now show up on your Odysee channel page.
According to Odysee support you can advertise the livestream uniform resource locator in advance. This uniform resource locator is obviously not the "Server" one. This uniform resource locator is a separate web page for your livestream.
You will see a chat box also on this page. Your audience can chat real time with you. Hyperchats has been release by Odysee support as well.
However, that is as much as I am going to mention Hyperchats in this blog post. Basically, you can receive tips from your audience members. You have just enabled your "Go Live" option, configured OBS Studio, and started livestreaming on Odysee.com.
