cannot deactivate it because you will
00:50
not have access to the deactivate button
00:53
once you're logged into twitter then

01:10
menu shows up on the left hand side
01:13
click on settings and privacy
01:16
then on the right hand side you should
01:19
see
01:20
account information change your password
01:21
download archive your data
01:23
tweetnext team and deactivate your
01:26
account
01:26
so what you're going to do is you're
01:28
going to click on deactivate your
01:30
account
01:31
again if your account is suspended
01:35
and you click on deactivate your account

01:51
about to start the process of
01:52
deactivating your twitter account your
01:54
display name username and public
01:55
bulgaria will no longer be viewable on
01:57
twitter.com twitter for
01:58
ios which is apple or twitter for
02:00
android
02:02
and then it just gives you some warnings
02:03
what else you should know you can
02:05
restore your twitter account if it is
02:07
accidentally or wrongfully deactivated
02:08
yes this is very important
02:11
you have a 30-day grace period
02:14
so if you
02:18
change your mind or whatever reason you
02:21
have up to 30
02:22
days after the 30th day your twitter
02:24
account is
02:25
permanently deleted and all your data is
02:28
deleted you will not be able to download
02:30
any of your twitter data
02:31
so pay attention to that warning some
02:34
account information may still be
02:35
available in search engines okay
02:40
if you want to change your username you
02:41
don't need to deactivate your account
02:45
what else it just gives you some other
02:47
information something about
02:50
using your username or email address or
02:52
with a different twitter account
02:53
that change them before you deactivate
02:55
this account okay whatever
02:57
now you can download your twitter data i
03:00
don't know why you would but you have
03:02
that
03:04
option and it you just click on your
03:07
twitter data right here when you get to
03:09
the screen if you want to download your
03:10
twitter data you'll need to complete
03:11
both a request
03:12
and download process before deactivating
03:15
your account
03:16
links to download your data cannot be
03:17
sent to deactivated accounts so this is
03:20
very important
03:21
if you want access to your twitter data
03:23
if you want to
03:24
download your twitter data before
03:27
deactivating your account
03:29
proceed first
03:33
download your data back up your twitter
03:36
data to your computer first
03:37
verify it and etc nauseam at infinite
03:40
item
03:41
then click on deactivate because you
03:44
will not be able to
03:46
download your twitter data after you
03:49
deactivate so click on deactivate
03:52
then it's going to ask you for a
03:54
password
03:55
and i will re be right back
04:04
now you are asked to type in a password
04:08
i am not going to type in the password
04:11
to demonstrate
04:12
and i am not going to click on
04:14
deactivate yet but all you have to do
04:16
is confirm your twitter password
04:20
it may not be available via
04:23
the stored password like some web
04:26
browsers have or some
04:28
services have you're gonna have to know
04:30
your twitter password
04:32
possibly if your web browser does not
04:35
allow it to
04:36
be accessible via cache you would just
04:38
you know click in the box and then it
04:40
might
04:40
pop up and then
04:43
click on deactivate i am not going to
04:46
screen capture any further because i
04:48
already tested this
04:49
and it shows my twitter handle
04:53
and some other information that i don't
04:55
want anybody
04:56
to be able to view when using
04:59
third-party websites like facebook and
05:01
google and
05:02
and microsoft and twitter
05:08
you may want to proceed with caution any
05:12
time you allow anybody to find out
05:15
even your twitter handle or your
05:18
username
05:19
or the url like you know youtube.com
05:23
twitter sucks all that and i'm not going
05:26
to discuss
05:27
you know but my point is that me as a
05:30
computer technician especially out on
05:31
the internet nowadays
05:32
you may want to value your information
05:36
and you may not want to know allow other
05:39
people to know
05:41
anything about you or especially user
05:44
names
05:44
especially handles et cetera at nazim
05:47
anaphon item
05:48
i don't want you to know what my
05:50
twitter handle was
05:52
so what i'm going to do is that
05:56
is all you have to do type in your
05:58
password click on deactivate
05:59
and then you're going to see a screen it
06:01
it took a few seconds
06:04
and finally it showed a screen saying
06:07
that
06:07
my twitter account was deactivated
06:11
however it allowed me to reactivate it
06:14
and so i tested it
06:15
i clicked on reactivate and i was able
06:17
to sign back in
06:19
now when before i clicked on reactivate
06:22
i tried to refresh my screen
06:24
and it took me back to the same screen
06:26
you have a
06:27
30 day grace period and i think it's
06:30
even
06:31
down to the second it showed a time
06:33
stamp of when
06:34
my twitter account was scheduled for
06:38
deactivation
06:39
you have 30 days from that point until
06:42
your twitter account
06:43
gets permanently removed you will not be
06:47
able to log in
06:48
it'll be gone except for some of that
06:50
data that twitter
06:52
warn about but you can go back on your
06:54
own and and
06:56
try to find out what that was but your
06:58
your tweets
06:59
and your contacts and anything in your
07:02
account most most of your data i think
07:05
it gets permanently removed
07:08
that is how you rid yourself of
07:11
that
07:12
nasty albatross called your
07:16
twitter account deactivate the
07:19
if you do not if you no longer want to
07:21
use it
07:23
adios
