MalwareBytes 3.0 was released in December of two thousand sixteen. As a computer repair technician, I thought I would download and install this newer version. I have been using version 2.x.x for years.
This free software is compatible with Microsoft Windows eXPerience, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows seven, Microsoft Windows eight, Microsoft Windows ten, and Microsoft Windows eleven operating systems. I am going to show you how to deactivate a free fourteen day trial, and then activate a free version that never expires. If you already have an older version of MalwareBytes, you might want to remove that version first, which may require that you reboot your computer.
Once your computer is rebooted, you can run a program similar to Ccleaner in order to make sure files and registry entries from older version of MalwareBytes are removed. This is an optional step. First, you will want to download MalwareBytes 3.0.
Once downloaded to your computer, you will want to double click this executable. At an open file security popup, you will want to click on Run. Then you can click Continue in a User Account Control window.
Now you will want to click OK at a select setup language in order to accept a default English language. Then you need to click on Next at a Welcome to Malwarbytes setup wizard. You will want to select I accept the agreement and then choose Next.
Next you will need to click Next at an information screen. Now you will want to click Next at a select destination folder. Then you can select Next at a select start menu folder.
You can remove that check in a Create a desktop shortcut box, if you do not want a Malwarebytes desktop shortcut created and then click on Next. You will want to click on Install. A Malwarebytes installation will now proceed.
You can click on Finish in order to complete this installation. By default MalwareBytes version three might install a free trial version that expires after fourteen days. In MalwareBytes Dashboard, you will want to click on Settings.
Then you need to click on a My Account tab and towards that bottom right hand side you will see Deactivate Premium Trial. Once this is selected, your copy of MalwareBytes verion three will revert to a free version that does not expire. Another popup in your task bar might open up.
You will want to click on Stay downgraded I do not need real time protection and then click on OK.
